Tony Doyle | ARCHIE (JOHN) KENNEDY
This is Tony’s debut role with ANU. Tony Doyle is an actor, writer and director from Dublin. He graduated from the Full Time Programme in the Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting in 2016.
Film and television credits include The Black Guelph, written and directed by John Connors. He was recently the lead in the short 11th hour directed by and starring Salma Hayek and Jim Sheridan. Other screen highlights include Dublin Oldschool, Michael Inside and Rebellion (Netflix). He had a supporting role in Aoife McArdle’s debut feature Kissing Candice (TIFF, Berlin) and was featured in John Carney’s Sing Street and The Flag alongside Pat Shortt.
Writing credits include Knowing Nathan, which debuted in Dublin before winning the Judges’ Choice Award for Best Play in Galway Fringe 2018. Weekend Warrior premiered at Dublin Fringe Festival 2019 before embarking on a nationwide tour. Other on-screen writing credits include Guard Up.
Tony was nominated by Dublin International Film Festival for a Rising Star award for the short Match which he co wrote, directed and starred in. The film was screened on the domestic and international film circuit, winning both the audience choice award at the Richard Harris International Film Festival and best overall short at the Catalyst Film Festival.
